To adapt to survive

Hello Readers,

Welcome back to my blog again. As I talked about various topics in previous blogs this time also I bring some interesting topic for discussion. As my blog title is episodes of an international student’s life then how can I forget about Cultural Shock!! Yes, this my topic for this blog.

Every international student must face cultural shock in their life. In world, there is maximum diversity in culture and values. If we travel from one country to another country, we have to respect their culture and values. As I came here in January it was very new and strange for me here. Because there is huge difference in culture and behaviour of people’s. I was in dilemma that how to react and how to accept this suddenly. But, I was amazed by the warm welcome from the native people. When I came here my communication skill was not so good, so I was feeling difficulty in communication. But people over here really support me even when I was fumbling or was not able to express what I want to tell they never made fun of me and always give positive response.

Then, I came to know about Canadian culture and try to adapt it. Because if you want to survive you have to adapt in surroundings. I came to know about the behaviours and rules of Canada and try to follow that. I respect this culture and try to be a good resident. I came to know that Canadian apologize so much which shows their politeness and I really appreciate that. I also love the respect they are giving to aged and disabled people.

Nut in shell, I came here and adapt the culture, because it is my moral duty to respect the culture of hosting country. I hope I will learn more about this culture and mould my behaviour according to that. I also want to tell one thing that I love the welcoming and sweet nature of Canadians which makes me feel comfortable in new country. Thank you so much for reading my blog.

Thank you.

Devoted To Work

Hello Readers,

Welcome back to my blog. In last blog I have mentioned about my long-term goal of my life. Well, that is goal which I will achieve. But, in this blog I want to talk about my passion, which is social work. I am lucky that every time god gives me chance to make up my work and passion together. I want to talk about my work, which I have started after coming here.
                                                                                                                     pinterest.com

I am working as Fundraiser in CNIB. It is Canadian National Institute for Blind. Because, I believe that all people matters in the community and all have right to be happy and comfortable. In this job, I must promote awareness in community about the new accessible technology program for blind and partial sighted people as well as fundraising. When I came to know about this job and applied for it, I was scared to do that. I know I love to do help community, but this work is challenging for me. As I just came here in January and I must talk with the community about the community. I was very nervous on my very first day because I don.t feel comfortable to talk with different people at door. But I took this challenge and improve my communication skill to improve my work outcome.

Finally, I came out my comfort zone and feel confident in knocking on door and speak with people. I get my inspiration from my team lead. She is also 100% blind and she is working with us and using modern technology with ease. She always amazed me with her confidence and independent nature. I think that if she can do that then why not i.

My work finally paid off when I met one of our client who got help from CNIB and came to know that because of our program and training she got chance to see her grand son on face time for very first time. That was very heart whelming for me and encourages me more to do this work. I believe that, if we are doing good for someone on the same time something good happens for us on earth. I feel lucky to get chance to do this work and help the community in which I am going to leave. Hope you guys feel happy after knowing my experience.

Thank You.

Heading towards Ambition

Hello readers,

Welcome back to my blog. I hope you are enjoying my blog and getting some interesting and knowledgeable things from it. This time, I am here with new topic which is most important thing in my life. I am talking about my long term goal “to be licensed Physiotherapist in Canada”. I know that is tough goal to achieve but, I believe that if you are willing to do that definitely you can achieve the success.

This is very long journey for me to go within. I have passed B.P.T in India, so basically I have the knowledge about the concepts and all subjects. But, as we know different area has different rules. I have to follow strict path to achieve my goal with dedication and time management. I have set a graph to follow. First of all, I have to go for my degree evaluation from my college to make degree valid here. After that, I need to join online bridging course which connects me with Canadian concepts of physical therapy. For that course, the requirement is 7 band in IELTS and degree evaluation. I have already got 7 band in IELTS and heading towards the degree evaluation. When I will get that, I will proceed towards my online course.

After that, there are 3 books which I need to refer for the exam. I am happy that 2 of that books are my favorite books so it will easy and enjoyable for me to read for the exam. I personally believe that experience makes more perfection. As, I have experience in the same field, it will be helpful to me for the exam. There are two section for exam. Written and practical. Once I clear the written part and I can proceed towards practical part.

This is my long term ambition and I am willing to achieve that.  I believe in hard work and dedication. Hope I will achieve that in my life.

Thank you.
